FRUITFULL
Fruifull is a fruit picking bag that reduces damage to fruit in the harvest phase of the supply chain. Lower rates of damage are achieved by reducing the velocity of falling fruit and better protecting harvested fruit in the bag. Velocity is also reduced when fruit is released into pallet bins while comprehensive back supports shift the weight of the loaded bag to the hips, reducing the chance of lumbar injuries while harvesting.

A third of all fruit grown on Australian orchards is lost and does not make it off of the farm for sale due to a variety of human centered and environmental reasons. The rotting fruit on the orchard floor produces methane gas which is a greenhouse gas 28x stronger than carbon dioxide as well as attracting orchard pests such as the fruit fly. The outdated picking bags used during harvest are the main cause for orchard injuries, 97% of which are not reported to employers.
CONTEXT
Fruitful reduces the velocity of the fruit falling into the bag during the picking process which in turn reduces bruising. It also compresses the fruit as it is released from the bag which reduces the velocity in which it enters storage crates, also reducing damage to the fruit meaning growers can sell more product whilst reducing the amount which is sent to landfill. Whilst improved lumbar support moves the weight of the bag from the shoulders to the hips reducing the risk of injury.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Reduces the velocity of falling fruit ot reduce the chance of damage being inflicted.
DAMPENING SYSTEM
Controls the pace at which fruit leaves the bag to reduce damage, this is an automatic function which is not dependent on the user.
COMPRESSION FUNNEL
Shifts the weight of the bag from the shoulders to the hips to reduce orchard injury
